Translating the Vision into Measurable Action Plans
An organization’s strategic plan will be translated into short-term, mid-term and long-term action items and initiatives for execution. Individuals, teams, departments and divisions will be assigned specific responsibilities for tactical engagement, with accountability measures attached to every goal and function. The blueprint for implementing the strategy will feature the tactical steps and mechanisms needed to coordinate the strategic plan goals with the organization’s operational processes. Simply put, the strategy is what the organization will do; the execution phase is all about how to do it.
The resulting Action Plans will outline such details as:
- Who champions the task?
- What are the specific steps for implementation?
- Are there gaps or support needs for execution? What Change Management, Transformational Strategies and/or Leadership Development is required?
- What are the KPIs for monitoring improvements?
- What other SMART goals are needed to measure success?
